BEST FRIEND DIV INSTRUCTIONS
Before You Start: What is a SHARE DIV? A share DIV is a DIV made for 2 people to use. Perfect for best friends and couples!
HOW DOES A SHARE DIV WORK? A share DIV is a fun way for you to have a myspace profile, and share it with your best bud, boyfriend, girlfriend or whoever. Basically, if you follow the instructions BELOW, you will end up with a myspace profile with a RIGHT & LEFT side. All you have to do is decide who is going to be on WHAT side. You also BOTH need to have your OWN seperate myspace accounts, so when someone sends you a private message it can go there. You will also need it to add your OWN pictures. So, when someone clicks on "pics", they will see YOUR OWN photo album. You will both have your OWN display picture, and name on your own side! Neat huh? HTML knowledge is helpful with this div but it is not required. All you have to do is follow the instructions exactly and you should have no problems.
First off, you and your best friend need your own personal myspace accounts. Get a piece of paper and pen ready because you are going to need to write down some numbers ( If you prefer you can use a computer program like notepad or text edit instead).
Decide who is going to be the friend on the left and the friend on the right.
Log into the left friends personal myspace.
Write down the left friends Friend ID. To get this ID go to EDIT MY PROFILE, and VIEW MY PROFILE. The ID will be in your browsers URL box and will be the numbers after friendid=
*the numbers that are HIGHLIGHTED are the numbers you need to copy from your URL
You now need to write down you myspace URL. You can find that on your Myspace page (see pic below). If you dont see it there you need to go to yopur home page and pick your myspace URL.
Now you need your profile pic URL. To get this right click on your profile pic and VIEW IMAGE. You now need to copy down the images url found in the browsers url box.
There, you now have all the LEFT friend information. You now need to log into the RIGHT friends personal myspace and do all the previous steps again.
You should now have a LEFT friend ID, a RIGHT friend ID, a LEFT friend myspace url, a RIGHT friend myspace url, a LEFT friend profile pic url and a RIGHT friend pic url.
You now need to create a whole new myspace profile where you are going to have your BEST FRIEND DIV.
The only number you need for this profile is the friend ID so use the same process above to obtain it.
Remain in your BEST FRIEND DIV myspace profile and copy the code below into your ABOUT ME section

The following code will all be placed in the WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section. I am going to do it in stages so it is less confusing. You can alter the code right in this windows below, then copy it to your profile when your done. If it is easier for you , you can copy the code to a program linke wordpad or text edit. If you alter the code right in your myspace, be sure not to save your changes EVERY TIME YOU DO SOMETHING NEW until you are COMPLETELY done.
First copy and paste in this code as is
Now for your profile pic. (Follow the steps below to add your profile pic)
Where you see the words LEFTDISPLAYPICURLHERE the left friend will replace these words with their "LEFT friend profile pic url" (which you should have written down)
Where you see the words RIGHTDISPLAYPICURLHERE the right friend will replace these words with their "RIGHT friend profile pic url" (which you should have written down)
Here's the code ( you can change everything RIGHT in the box below, when you refresh this page, all the info will disappear)
When you are done copy it to your WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section.
Now for your ADD US button. Replace the words MAINFRIENDIDHERE with your Friend ID you obtained from the new myspace profile you created for this Best friend div.
When you are done copy it to your WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section.
Now for the left friends links. Wherever you see the words LEFTFRIENDIDHERE. Replace them with your LEFT friend ID.(Again, you can do this RIGHT in the box below & then copy and paste it to your profile)
You will also see at the very bottom the words LEFTMYSPACEURLHERE. Replace them with your LEFT friend myspace url.
When you are done copy it to your WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section.
Now for the right friends links. Wherever you see the words RIGHTFRIENDIDHERE. Replace them with your RIGHT friend ID.
You will also see at the very bottom the words RIGHTMYSPACEURLHERE. Replace them with your RIGHT friend myspace url.
When you are done copy it to your WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section.
Now for your about me. Yow will see the words LEFT FRIEND WRITE YOUR ABOUT ME HERE repeates a bunch of times. Replace these words with whatever you (the left friend) want to say about yourself. If you want to add a return in your words add a <BR> where you want the space. (You can fill in your info right in the work box below, then copy and paste it to your profile if you'd like).
When you are done copy it to your WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section.
Now the RIGHT friend can do the same

Now for your comment box.
Wher you see the words LEFTFRIENDIDHERE , replace them with your LEFT friend ID

Now for you screen name.
Where you see the words RIGHT SCREENNAME HERE , replace them with the screen name the right friend would like to use. (Pick whatever you want)
Where you see the words LEFT SCREENNAME HERE , replace them with the screen name the left friend would like to use. (Pick whatever you want)
Keep the names short (not much longer than LEFT SCREENNAME HERE) otherwise it won't work,
When you are done copy it to your WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET section.
